Frequently Asked Questions
What is Zero-Trust security?
Zero-Trust assumes no user, device or network segment is trusted by default, so every access request is verified regardless of origin. In practice it means strong identity controls, least-privilege access, network segmentation and continuous verification rather than a hardened perimeter with an open interior.
What compliance standards do you work to?
Rivo aligns technical controls to ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and HIPAA. The GRC phase maps each control to the relevant framework requirement, so the security work and the audit evidence are produced together rather than reconstructed under deadline pressure later.
What is the difference between a vulnerability assessment and penetration testing?
A vulnerability assessment scans systematically for known weaknesses and produces a prioritised list. A penetration test simulates a real attacker attempting to chain those weaknesses into actual compromise. Assessments tell you what is exposed; penetration tests tell you what an attacker could genuinely do with it.
How do you protect cloud workloads specifically?
Through cloud workload protection and posture management: hardening baselines, runtime protection for containers and virtual machines, cloud identity entitlement management to control over-privileged roles, and continuous compliance monitoring that flags misconfiguration, still the most common cause of cloud breaches.
Do you provide ongoing monitoring or just projects?
Both. Rivo delivers project-based hardening and assessment work, and ongoing managed security services including threat monitoring and incident response. Most clients start with an assessment, then move to a managed arrangement once the baseline controls are in place.
